We’ve got a surprise show booked for tonight at The Living Room (Ludlow, off Stanton Street on the L.E.S.)
The boys in Bubble will be releasing their long-awaited album tomorrow night and offered us a spot on the bill. Tommy, Mark and Colin will also join Bubble’s Dave Foster for a short set of Beatles tunes. For those of you who haven’t seen the video of us trying out the new The Beatles: Rock Band (also releasing tomorrow) for the NY Times, here’s a peak: http://tinyurl.com/bubblerockband
Also, here’s a linked video of Mark and Tommy playing with Dave near Bryant Park, shot by TimeOut New York’s FlipCam theatre.
This will be a special night for us as well, because we will be adding two new members to the line-up: Waylan Daniel (bass) of Waylan Daniel and The Bricks, and Mike Checcini (guitar) of the Neutron Drivers. We are psyched to have them, and they've proven a perfect fit.

We’ve spent the better part of June putting overdubs on our record, but we also have a great show we’re preparing for on June 25th at Spike Hill in Brooklyn:
The three-hour Matador Records Tribute show kicks off with a 15 minute set of Cat Power songs, performed by The White Noise Supremecists.
We will be doing our part, joined by Michael Cecchini of The Neutron Drivers and Waylan Daniel of the God Damns , with a 30 minute set of Guided By Voices tunes. Also performing with us will be Gold Streets, who will be playing Superchunk, Pavement and Yo La Tengo. House band, The Au Laits, with special guests (Dave Foster, Julian Maile, Steve “Hank” Henry, Amanda Sayle and others) will play the final hour with music from Teenage Fanclub, Liz Phair, New Pornographers and more!

Rod will ask fellow Staten Islander Tommy Devito about the joys of producing our album on the SI, and they will play some of our music afterwards. Hear the live podcast starting at 10PM. We’ll be calling in at 10:30! Feel free to call-in yourselves to tell them how much you love us: 646-929-1238
Now done with two months of constant gigging, we’re heading to the studio to start work on our full length LP and digipak. It is due out early 2011. In the meantime, we’ll be sure to eek out some treats for you along our way to getting there.
The release will include close to 11 songs, which we’ve been hammering out over the past year. We’re going to hit basic tracking onto 2″ tape later this month with Brad Albetta at Money Boy Studios in Brooklyn, NY. The rest we will self-produce with the gifted Tommy DeVito at the helm.
Again, thanks to everyone who’s come out to see us, to the 100+ people who signed our mailing list and to all the fans who have found us online. Here’s a fan submission from our last show at Crash Mansion on 2/28:
We’ll be taking a short breather from live shows but look for us later this spring.
We’re happy to tell you about this upcoming show on Saturday, March 7th at the Brooklyn Lyceum, at 227 4th Ave in Park Slope (9th Street stop on the F). It’s a benefit for an independent short film, starring Amanda Sayle. We’ll be going on at 10PM!
Also, keep voting at Radio Crystal Blue Airplay Vote 2009. We are currently leading in EP Bracket 2. You can vote every day from the same computer!
This coming month we will be playing every weekend, hitting spots in Brooklyn, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Manhattan. This should give you all ample opportunity to see quality Rock.
